Well that is it, the end of my first term as Headteacher of Northstead and what a term it has been!
Today, we celebrated Stars of Northstead and it was wonderful to see children and their parents/carers celebrating their: determination, effort, enthusiasm, resilience, hardwork, caring nature, friendship and being the best they can be. Their names will be placed in our new logbook in school to ensure their achievements are recorded as a historical moment in school.
We will continue to work incredibly hard to improve our school in the new year, introducing new ways of teaching writing and in the teaching of reading to enhance the children’s achievement and progress in these two core areas. Further information about this will be shared with you in the new year. Today, you would have seen my post about attendance on class dojo and the reasons behind the recent key messages we have been sending out about attendance. Every day really does matter in school and your continued support with attendance is much appreciated.
We will begin the new term with a whole school focus on World History. Curriculum newsletters will be sent out at the start of the new term to share the learning the children will be enjoying in school. In January, your child will also receive a new learning journal for homework. Again, look out for information on this in January.
Many thanks to all of our wonderful staff at Northstead for everything they have done and I know will continually do in the New year for the children of our community. They make a difference every single day.
May I wish every member of our community a relaxing and enjoyable festive period and we look forward to seeing you all in 2023.
