As I am writing the sun is finally shining! You never know, it might be here to stay and the children will finally get to play on the field at lunchtimes!
Thanks from the school council
A big thanks from the school council to everyone who has returned their raffle tickets. The draw will take place next week and winners informed. The funds raised will help the school council to buy their buddy benches for the playground. Your support is appreciated and the school council are very excited to get their order in and the benches placed in the playgrounds.
Thanks to the school council and children in classes 14 and 15.
On Thursday and Friday of this week, our school council and children in classes 14 and 15 were part of our recruitment process for two new teachers for September. The feedback from all candidates was overwhelmingly positive about our children. They make me so proud to be their headteacher as they represent the school so well and demonstrate to visitors our core values in everything they do.
Thanks to Mrs Mitchell
A big thanks to Mrs Mitchell for organising the sports team photos on Thursday. These will be available to buy as soon as the photographer has them all sorted.
Dojo Postcards
Well done to the huge number of children who achieved either their 25 or 50 dojo postcard this past week. But a special well done to those who have reached 75! On course to reach 100 and have their name on this year’s Superstar board!
Attendance Matters (We aim for 100% attendance but our target remains at 95%)
After a positive start to our attendance since returning from the Easter holidays, this past week has taken a dip with attendance only at 92.15%.
Best class attendance this week was class 8 with 97%
Best year group attendance this week was Year 2 with 94.2%
Attendance this year for the whole school is 92.85% (Below National Average).
An amazing 47 children still have a 100% record this year!
327 children have an attendance record of 95%+ this year.
Every day in school really does matter. Those who are in school more regularly are making amazing progress as they are in school to be taught and to learn the whole sequence of learning rather than missing days regularly. Every lesson of every day really does make a difference.
Super learning
It is always a pleasure to see the children with their amazing work – particularly their amazing learning from home. Recently, I’ve received so many amazing home learning examples which have not been asked for but the children have chosen to do. Keep up the great learning everyone!

Scooters and Bikes on the playground
The riding of scooters and bikes on the playground and at the front of school is not permitted in order to maintain a safe environment for all pupils and families. Please do not let your child ride their bike or scooter in these areas. Throughout this year, this has been amazing but recently, we have seen some instances of children riding. Thanks for your support in this matter.
Start of the day – Safeguarding concerns (Mainly Y5/6 Children)
A reminder to parents and carers that children should not be arriving at school before 8:30am. A number of children, mainly in years 5 and 6 are arriving at school well before 8:30am and playing at the front of school. This is very often children who are unaccompanied. This presents a safeguarding risk to the children as their is no supervision until 8:30am. Please support us with this by ensuring your children do not arrive until 8:30am. The front of school is not a playground. Again, thanks for your support with this matter and ensuring your child’s safety.
Thanks as ever for the amazing support from our community.
