Attendance Updates
The spring has brought better attendance to Northstead and we continue to have a more positive attendance. Average of the year is just above 94%. Our aim as a community has to be to continue to raise this higher towards the national average for attendance which is 94.8% for primary schools.
Punctuality Letters
This week, families may have received a letter in regards to punctuality. These have been sent to any family where their child has been late to school (after the gates have closed) on more than 10 occasions this year. We appreciate that some families may have circumstances where punctuality can be a challenge, especially on a morning. We will continue to monitor lateness. Lateness to school means children miss the important start to the day.
Newspaper Reports
We’ve had a number of reports in the Scarborough Evening News recently. Please check them out here.

Assessments
Well done to the majority of children who have completed their assessment point 2 these past few weeks. Always giving their all and always trying to be the best that they can be. Assessments help to inform teaching and learning and ensure children make excellent progress at all times of the year.
Parent / Teacher Meetings
It was great to see so many Y6 parents and carers at their meetings this week. A reminder to EYFS, Y1 and Y5 parents to book their slot. A reminder was sent from school cloud. If you have any issues with the system, please call school reception to give you any assistance or to book a slot.
Friends of Northstead Events
As well as the school fair, FONS are looking to organise an Easter Quiz and Bingo event, as well as a colour run. Watch out for information coming home soon.
Want to help our community? Please volunteer a few hours for FONS. They do an amazing job but always need new volunteers to ensure every event runs as smoothly and safely as possible. Contact Mr Hopper for details if interested.
