A warm welcome back to Northstead Headteacher News to all of our community.
This information should be read alongside today’s newsletter.
Staffing News
Congratulations to Mrs Tindall (Class 1) and Miss Seeley (Class 10) who are both expectant mothers. Both will be working at school until the Easter Holidays or just after and will then commence their maternity leave. Once appointments are made for their class teaching allocation, parents and carers will be notified.
Attendance News…
Started the week off well, it snowed and it was icy and so attendance fell.
Whole school attendance to date: 93.92%
This week’s attendance is 93.62%
Well done to class 10 for winning the Headteacher Award this week for the highest attendance in school. Their attendance was an amazing 97.92%
Term Time Holiday Request Information (Link to form below)

Please note the following:
The decision of the Headteacher is final.
Parents who take a child on leave in term time without the permission of the school risk being issued with a penalty notice fine for unauthorised absences.
Taking a pupil on leave during term time interrupts teaching and learning and can disrupt educational progress.
Before completing their application parent/carers are asked to consider the effect on their child’s continuity of education.
For a list of exceptional circumstances, please see the weblink above.
Physical Education
Please note that during the Spring term, children across school will only take part in indoor PE. As a larger than average primary school with only one PE hall, that means only one PE lesson per week for a short time. In the summer term, we will revert back to two lessons per week.
Smart Watches in School for children…
Amazing gadgets, but not in school please. Please leave these expensive items at home. Thanks for your support with this.
Thanks…
Thanks to the many volunteers who arrived just before Christmas to help with planting at the front of school. Fingers crossed for many of the trees and bushes to grow wonderfully!
