What a fantastic start to the new school year it has been! I am incredibly proud of how well our children have returned, demonstrating exceptional attitudes both in and out of the classroom. From the very first day, it has been clear that our pupils are ready and eager to engage with their learning, bringing positive energy and enthusiasm to every aspect of school life.
Attendance has been excellent, with the vast majority of students arriving on time, ready to learn, and fully prepared for the challenges ahead. This commitment to being present and active in their education sets a strong foundation for continued success throughout the year. I want to thank both children and parents/carers for prioritising attendance, knowing how vital it is for academic progress and personal development.
Week One Attendance = 95.6%
Week Two Attendance = 96.4%
An amazing improvement on last year. Thanks everyone!
In addition to high attendance, behaviour around the school has been exemplary. Our students are showing great respect for each other, their teachers, and the wider school community. Walking through the corridors and visiting classrooms, I’ve seen kindness, cooperation, and a real sense of purpose in everything they do.
I’m excited to see how this positive momentum continues, and I’m confident we have a fantastic year ahead of us!
Snacks and packed lunches – Be allergy alert
A reminder to all parents and carers that we are a nut-free school.
Children must not bring any snacks containing nuts into school. This also includes Nutella and items that may include nutella like Croissants filled with chocolate, Pan-Au-Chocolate or other pastries.
We have a number of children in school with severe allergies so please remember this when purchasing your child’s snack and/or packed lunch items.

Year 4 visit to Danby Moors
Year 4 had an exciting trip to the Danby Moors Centre, where they explored the natural beauty of the North York Moors. The children enjoyed hands-on opportunities to learn about rivers, studying water flow, and the role of rivers in shaping the landscape. The experience deepened their understanding of geography and environmental science, while encouraging teamwork and curiosity. It was a fun and educational day, fostering a deeper connection with nature and the world around them. Thanks to the year 4 team for organising such an amazing learning adventure for the children.
