KS1 SATS
A huge well done to all of our Y2 children who enjoyed their KS1 ‘quiz’ time this week. The children have been the best they can be all week and this was shown in the whole of KS1 being given a star of the week by the Y2 team. They showed a mature attitude to the ‘checks’ throughout. Well done to all of them. The results of the tests help to inform our end of year teacher assessments for KS1. But only once our hardworking Y2 teachers have marked all the papers! Thanks to the Y2 team!
A big thanks to Mrs Wilson and Mrs Mainprize for their organisation over the past two weeks in ensuring every test arrives at every place on time.
Be Sun Safe
As the weather seems to have taken a turn for the better, please remember to apply sunscreen to your child before school and to provide a sun hat. We will encourage the children to remain in the shade and protect themselves during hot sunny spells outside.
Class dojo messaging
Please remember that we no longer use class dojo messaging as a communication tool.
Please call school on 01723 362249 or email admin@northstead.n-yorks.sch.uk if trying to contact your child’s class teacher or another member of staff.
Football v Gladstone Road
It was a pleasure to see our girls and boys y6 teams take on their counterparts from Gladstone Road on Tuesday night. A huge thanks to Mr Armstrong for organising it all. All children who represented school did so in the most amazing way and played together as a team. Fingers crossed for 1 or 2 more fixtures so every person in Y6 who would like to represent school is given the opportunity.
Vacancies
Please see the vacancies page of the website for further information about current vacancies we have in school. https://www.northsteadprimary.co.uk/vacancies
EYFS – Emergency Services
As part of our emergency services theme in EYFS we would love to build and create our own emergency vehicles such as police cars, ambulances. If anyone has any big carboard boxes, large junk modelling they could donate please that would be fantastic!
Please feel free to leave them at the EYFS door.
Peter Pan Production
After months and months of rehearsals, set design and production and a huge heap of hardwork, our production of Peter Pan will open its doors on Tuesday. If you have not already booked your tickets, please do so as soon as possible.
The performance times are as follows:
Tuesday 23rd May 2023 at 1:30 pm and 6:00pm (Group 2)
Wednesday 24th May 2023 at 1:30 pm and 6:00pm (Group 1)
Thursday 25th May 2023 at 1:30 pm and 6:00pm (Group 3)
Due to fire restrictions we can only allow 72 adults in for the afternoon shows and 144 for the evening shows. Tickets will need to be purchased before the show, at a cost of £2 per ticket for the performance and refreshments. Please ensure you have written the name of the person attending the performance on the back of the ticket before arriving at school.
Personal highlight
Aside from being very proud of our football teams on Tuesday night, it was amazing to see one of our EYFS children (Abubakre) immediately recall his number bonds to 10 in assembly on Friday. He bowled us away with his speed! What a superstar!
Looking forward to seeing more excellence from the children this week.
