National Teaching Assistants Day
Today marks national teaching assistant appreciation day. Across our school we have a number of teaching assistants who give our children amazing support on a day to day basis often going way above and beyond for the children of Northstead. Their work is invaluable to the running of our school and I want to say a massive thanks to every one of them for their hardwork, dedication and commitment they provide every single day.
School Discos
Many thanks to everyone who supported school and purchased a ticket for the school discos this week. We raised an amazing £863 for school funds. Money that will go straight into opportunities and experiences for the children, as well as enable us to purchase more reading books for school. Your support of our community is much appreciated.
Attendance Prizes!
Attendance has already improved this year… However, we have further news on attendance to share! This year, whenever your child achieves 100% attendance for a whole week, they will gain a raffle ticket. At the end of this half term and then again towards the end of Autumn 2, the children will place their raffle tickets in our prize tubs. We will have 4 prize tubs at Christmas.
Attendance News…
Well done to class 2 who are this week’s attendance winners with 100%! Amazing!

Visitors to school…
This week we welcomed Ian Clennan of Selby Educational Trust and Fiona Hopkinson and Catherine Matthewman of Pathfinder Teaching School hub to school to discuss the progress we have made as a school in two years. We have now been working alongside Ian and his team on our school development plans for over a year. Ian and the team from Pathfinder were very complimentary about the changes made in school in the past two years, the difference in our achievement levels and most importantly complimentary about our amazing staff and children.
On Monday of next week, we welcome Yousef Abdo of Colburn Community Primary School to our school to share with him the developments we have made in maths across our school. Being highlighted as a school to visit for inspiration by others is testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at our school. A great big well done to Mrs Marsden who has led maths in our school.
On Tuesday of next week, our North Yorkshire appointed advisor, Lis Marsden, will be visiting school to complete a safeguarding audit. You may see Lis outside at the start or end of the day.
Have a great weekend everyone.
