Another week has flown by and another week of seeing amazing learning across school take place.
Safeguarding visit
On Tuesday of this week, Lis Marsden (Senior Advisor for School Improvement) visited school to complete a visit focused on Safeguarding at Northstead. I’m happy to report that she was very complimentary about our staff, our pupils and our parents during her visit. Our safeguarding procedures are robust, professional and keep our children and staff safe every day in school. Her report will be with us soon and I will share more from this when it is available.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility in our community and I am glad to see that our policies and procedures are highlighted as being highly effective by an external visitor.
Y2 visit to York.
A big thanks to our parent and carer volunteers who along with staff visited York with our year two children last week. They have produced some amazing work this week and it has been a pleasure to see their persuasive posters in their writing books.
Attendance Letters (AL1)
This week sees the first point of our attendance monitoring system in school. Attendance has been stronger than last year but we still have a responsibility to write to parents and carers to inform them if their child’s attendance is below the standards that are set by national government for children to attend school.
Parent and Carer Teacher Meetings
It was great to welcome so many parents and carers into our EYFS and Y6 meetings this week. Thanks for taking the time to meet with our class teachers.
Marvellous Makers – Library Challenge
I am glad to say that the certificates have finally arrived into school for the children that completed this year’s summer reading challenge. They will be given out on Monday in our celebration assemblies.
