Well! We didn’t expect to arrive in school this morning and find the roof of our EYFS home hut on the adventure playground. Luckily for us, a local joiner (parent of a child in EYFS) has volunteered his time to come and see if he can fix it for us. What a community we have at Northstead!
In school, our children have been working incredibly hard since returning, particularly on the standard of their writing and their handwriting. The improvements I have seen from children has been incredible. Long may this continue. By now, you should have received your curriculum newsletters for this term from your child’s class teacher. This will include important information about what your child will be learning over the next term and news of any important events taking place in school such as: stay and learn sessions and learning celebration events.

Thanks for the 58 respondents to the OFSTED parent view service. We are aiming for 100 for this year. Please can you take a few moments of your time to complete this survey. The information from this helps to form some parts of our school development plan.
Attendance Matters
No classes got 100% attendance this week but a big well done to 6EW with 99.09%. 1KW with 98.3% and 1HS with 98%. Attendance in school this week was 93.33%. Many thanks to all of our parents and carers for promoting good attendance but also ensuring school is a safe place by keeping children at home if they are not well enough to attend school.
Be on time, every time.
Lateness into school contributes to lost learning. The old saying of better late than never is true, but please try to avoid being late as this causes lost learning time. Remember that our gates open at 8:35am and close at 8:43am. Children are expected to be in their classroom by 8:45am ready for learning, check in and register.
This week’s home writing challenge
Entries to be brought to Mr Hopper by Wednesday at midday.
Choose an animal that you love, or enjoy looking at or are interested in. Can you write a 5 sentence description of it and draw a picture to accompany it?
I look forward to seeing them all by Wednesday.
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and we look forward to another fun-filled week next week.
