Friday – Children In Need Day Information
We invite children (and adults) to enter our ‘Reet Big Biscuit Bake Off Competition’.
Children are asked to bring their biscuits (or cakes) into school on Friday morning. Please ensure they are on a labelled tray (your child’s name and class) and they also have a list of ingredients used.
After judging takes place in the morning, we will be offering the children the chance to purchase these. If your child wishes to purchase a biscuit or cake, please provide them with 20p in a named envelope. All money raised will go to Children In Need.

What’s been going on this week at Northstead?
We have appointed our school councillors for 2022-2023. Congratulations to them on being democratically voted in by their peers. The first meeting of the school council will take place next week.
Thanks to Mick from ‘Keep Scarborough Tidy’ who worked with Y5 to litter pick in the local area and also reported the graffiti at the end of Maple Drive. (Hopefully this will be removed soon!).
Thanks to Mr Wooley who visited school and talked about his work as an outdoor instructor but also about Mountain Safety and enabled the children in Y4 to learn a great deal about Mountains!
What an event! EYFS enjoyed a marvellous ‘Red Carpet Event’ this week. It was great to see them all enjoying the talent we have in our school.
We appointed two new Governors to school this week. Mr Abell will be our new parent governor and Mr Trainor will be a co-opted governor. Many thanks to them for volunteering their time to add challenge and support to our Governing body.
Home Learning – Thanks to some children for some incredible home learning this week. Some poetry and writing we have received into school has been magnificent! Don’t forget to use TT rockstars and Spellingshed at home! Also – Read, Read, Read, Read and do some more reading!
You should have received an email from school today in regards a consultation for the changing of the school day from September 2023. Your opinions are important to us and so please contribute your feedback towards the decision making process of this.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
